(Left) Fowl Weather
A Blue Heron braces itself against the cold rain last week on top of the boat dock in Jefferson’s Turning Basin. High water from Cypress Bayou forced the dock to the top of its piers and put parts of the boat ramp and gangway to the dock underwater.  Lake O’ the Pines increased the amount of water it holds back, to lessen downstream problems.

Local photographer Hollis Shadden captures blue skies in Jefferson over the First United Methodist Church – a welcome sight after a wet December.
