JEFFERSON – Jefferson Independent School District will provide students with necessary supplies when they return to classes in the fall.
An announcement by the district said the move was made to free parents from the worry of purchasing crayons and notebook paper.
The announcement referred to the present difficult time. Marion County now has 12.7 percent unemployment because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Necessary supplies will be bought and provided for by the district.
JISD will make arrangements to ensure students have the supplies they need for the school year.
JISD plans to provide items such as notebook paper, folders, pens, pencils, scissors, glue, kleenex, sanitizing materials, pencil bags, highlighters, crayons, markers, earbuds, etc.
Additional announcements are planned for the coming weeks regarding plans and protocols related to the start of school this fall.
