JEFFERSON – The Marion County Grand Jury returned murder indictments in April against both Gary Wayne Craver and Jennie Lynn Paredes in the Dec. 23 shooting death of Charles Hickman in Holiday Harbor.
The Grand Jury also indicted Richard Eugene King, Jr., on a charge of assault of a public servant.
The true bill alleges that on or about June 22, 2019, King caused “bodily injury” to Marion County Deputy Sheriff Alisha Riehl by grabbing her arm and shoving Riehl into a porch railing while the deputy was in the process of arresting King.
Michael Earl Carr was indicted on a charge of failure to comply with a sex offender’s duty to register.
Brandon Lee Smith was indicted on three charges of videoing women without their consent in a bathroom or dressing room. A Jefferson High School student was among the alleged victims.
The indictment alleges Smith intended to invade their privacy and record by electronic means visual images of the women.
Whitney Danielle Surratt was indicted for abandonment or endangerment of a child criminal negligence.
William Earl Johnson and Christopher Leon Thurman were indicted on charges of manufacturing or delivery of a controlled substance.
Five people were indicted on charges of possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1.
Trenton Ehl, Whitney Danielle Surratt and Dequrious Marquise Robbins were indicted on charges of aggravated robbery.
Four were indicted on charges of evading arrest.
Eddie Shane Eubanks and Dessirey Sean Miller were indicted on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Two theft of property indictments were returned against one person.
One was indicted for hindering apprehension of a known felon.
Unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon indictments were returned against three.
A tampering with evidence indictment was returned against one.
Three burglary indictments were returned.
One was indicted for deadly conduct, and two for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Three cases were resolved in district court in April.
Eddie Ray Cole’s probation for DWI was amended.
Stephen Warren Pendergrass received a five-year sentence at the Texas Department of Corrections after he pled guilty to possession of a controlled substance.
Adrian Twayne Smith was sentenced to one year and six months for possession of a controlled substance less than one gram.
