MOVIE REVIEW | “The Call of the Wild”

Movies and literature have given us three great dog stories: “Old Yeller,” “The Art of Racing in the Rain” and “Call of the Wild.”

If you don’t cry at the end of “Old Yeller,” you are not from Texas. If you don’t cry at the end of “Racing,” you missed an important life lesson somewhere along the way. If “Wild” does not get you at least a little bit misty-eyed, you probably like cats, anyway.

If you love dogs, you will love “Call of the Wild.” If you don’t love dogs, you will probably be snoring like the fellow in the row behind me. Like the classic Jack London book, “Wild” requires patience.
