LONGVIEW – The Dawgs defeated the West Rusk Raiders on Thursday night 36-13 at Lobo Stadium in Longview. This was the first round as the Dawgs prepare to advance to round two in the playoffs.

Quarterback Kylan Thomas (#5) threw the ball a total of 95 yards, scoring one touchdown by passing it to receiver Bryson Johnson (#11). Thomas rushed 112 yards, and Dee Black (#21) rushed 102 yards total, both scoring 2 touchdowns each for the Dawgs.

This game, QB Thomas passed his way through the 1,000 yard mark for the season, making both his rushing and passing yards over 1,000.

Senior Tyler Cherry (#56) dominated on the defense with a total of 18 tackles and 1 block. Di’Muantrez Haggerty (#22) had 15 total tackles, and Khalil Brasher (#4) followed with 14 total tackles. Both Jacari Mosley (#50) and Kenneth Bell (#28) had 13 total tackles with 2 tackles for loss each.

The Dawgs will go up against the Malakoff Tigers for playoff round two as the home team on Thursday, November 21 at Gladewater stadium starting at 7 p.m.
