Friday was a spectacular night as the Dawgs went up against the Hooks Hornets and defeated them 49-7. As this game was the annual Senior Night, fans from all around watched as this year’s 22 seniors walked Jerry Bennet field for the last time.

The Dawgs saw great plays on the offensive side from Kylan Thomas (#5) and Dee Black (#21). Thomas passed for 58 yards, scoring 1 touchdown by passing it to receiver Malik Brasher (#6). Thomas also rushed for 195 yards, scoring 4 touchdowns total, while Black rushed a total of 167 yards, scoring 1 touchdown.

During the game, Thomas broke the 1,000-yard rushing mark for this football season. Thomas commented, “It’s really an honor; I can’t take much credit though since it’s a team effort, and everyone has played a part in helping me achieve this milestone.”

On defense, Di’muantrez Haggerty (#20) led the Dawgs with 20 total tackles. Tyler Cherry (#56) followed with 13 total tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 2 sacks and a forced fumble. The Dawgs will finish their district season at Redwater on November 8, starting at 7:30 p.m.
