MOVIE REVIEW | “RAMBO: Last Blood”

960x0hkhWhy do we love action-adventure franchises? It could be for the same reason we opt for McDonalds or Dominos Pizza. It’s not that they are so good, but we know what we are getting and the price is right.

It’s been almost 40 years since John Rambo told the Col. Sam Trautman, “They drew first blood.” Since that moment we have now had six movies featuring Sylvester Stallone as the troubled Vietnam veteran. Enroute to turning his name into a cliche, Rambo moves through life like he did not see the three rocks stacked on top of each other next to the trail, slaughtering bad guys and wading through blood.

jljThe plots are similar and the results are the same. But there is always the chance this one will end different. Last Blood feels far too late to the party and does little to set itself apart. Sadly, it does not feel like a Rambo film.
