Bob Moseley went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, February 1, 2019 at the age of 102. Bob was born in Jefferson, Tx. on January 1, 1917 to Lillian Arnold Moseley and John Louis Moseley. As a child, he watched as the brick streets were laid in Jefferson from his Dad’s 2nd floor dentist office.
He served his country in the Coast Guard and was stationed in Brunswick, Ga. during World War II. While there, he met and married his “Georgia Peach”, Mozelle Leonard. After the war they moved to Vivian and Bob returned to Arkla Gas where he worked for 39 years, retiring in 1979.
Bob has been a member of the Vivian United Methodist Church since 1945 and served as Sunday School superintendent, usher and charter member of the Methodist Men’s Club. He was active in the Vivian Kiwanis Club and served as Secretary and Club President in 1966. Bob was recently recognized for 72 years of continuous membership in the 40 & 8 Club in Shreveport serving as Chef de Train 2. He was also an active member of the Bowen Holland American Legion Post in Vivian for over 72 years serving as their Post Commander. Most importantly, Bob was a Christian who practiced his faith daily. He witnessed many changes in this world but remained a sweet, kind and gentle man who was well respected by family and friends.
He was affectionately known as Mr. Bob by fellow church members, Rob by family and “Papaw” by his granddaughter, Gentry.
