It was raining three-pointers in Harleton on Thursday as the Lady Dawgs took on Clarksville in the Holiday Hoops Tournament. Five Lady Dawgs sunk the long ball in Jefferson’s 58-31 victory over the Lady Tigers. Jaden Carter, Maddie Bristow, Tierrani Johnson, and Mackenzie Jordan each hit a 3, and Elaina Langbartels nailed 5 in the game.
Clarksville took an early lead, and the Lady Dawgs found themselves behind 7-9 at the end of the first quarter. The Jefferson team poured in 17 points in the second quarter, including a 3-point buzzer-beater by Johnson, to take a resounding 24-14 lead at halftime. The Lady Dawgs kept up the intensity in the second half, scoring 18 points in the third quarter and 16 in the fourth.
Langbartels led the team with 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 blocked shots. Nia Garrett had 11 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals. Johnson hit 9 points, 3 rebounds, and a steal, while Jordan put up 8 points, and pulled down 4 rebounds and 3 steals. Bristow had 7 points, a rebound, and a steal; Jaden Carter finished with 3 points, and Brianna Carter ended with 1 point.
