Nia Garrett blocked an Ore City spike and Mackenzie Jordan served up an ace to bring Jefferson closer, 16-21. Despite a block and a kill by Langbartels and an aced serve by Warren, the Lady Dawgs fell short, 19-25.
In the second set, the Lady Dawgs took charge early. They took a 3-0 lead thanks to excellent service by Jordan and a kill by Hannah Welch. The Lady Rebels answered with seven straight points, but Jefferson wasn’t finished. The Lady Dawgs began chipping away at the Rebel lead, and came to within 1 point, 8-9. The Lady Rebs pulled ahead again 10-19, but kills by Jordan, Langbartels, and Tierrani Johnson kept the Lady Dawgs in contention. Warren added two service points, including another ace, near the end of the set, but Jefferson could not overcome the deficit. Ore City took the second set 19-25.
Early kills by Garrett and Langbartels in the third set gave the Lady Dawgs a 2-1 advantage. The score stayed tight throughout the first half of the set, but then Ore City took the lead.
