The Lady Dawgs Volleyball team lost a District 15-3A match at home. The Lady Eagles of Tatum swept Jefferson in three sets (16-25, 10-25, 5-25).

The Lady Dawgs started out strong in the first set, with kills by Ja’Kaila Ventimiglia and Elaina Langbartels. They led 6-3 before Tatum began to chip away at the Jefferson lead.  The Lady Eagles tied the set 8-8 and never looked back, taking advantage of several errors by the Lady Dawgs. They pulled away to an 11-17 advantage, and despite a serving ace by Jefferson’s Ar’Tazia Warren and a kill by Celeberity Jeter, Tatum put the set away, 16-25.

In the second set, Tatum quickly took the lead, 1-6. Warren added a couple of service points to get Jefferson back in the game, but the Lady Birds had a couple of great services to take a huge lead, 5-17. Ventimiglia ripped a pair of kills, and Hannah Welch provided an ace in the set, which ended in a loss for the Lady Dawgs, 10-25.

Tatum used a combination of great setting, serving, and hitting to take the third set, 5-25.

Mackenzie Jordan – 5 assists, 4 digs
Summer Love – 7 digs
Ja’Kaila Ventimiglia – 5 kills
