The Jefferson Lady Dawgs Volleyball team traveled to Longview to take on the Lady Sentinels of Christian Heritage Classical School on Tuesday.  The Lady Dawgs challenged CHCS in 5 sets, but came up short in the end, finishing the evening 2-3.

The first set showed two evenly matched teams, with Jefferson and Christian Heritage dueling back and forth toward the end of the set.  Jefferson came away with a tight 26-24 victory, but lost the second set 19-25.  With solid serving and play at the net, the Lady Dawgs came roaring back with a 25-20 win in the third set.  Christian Heritage took the fourth in a 21-25 decision, sending the match into a fifth set.  The Lady Sentinels capitalized on several errors by Jefferson, and pulled out a win (8-15) in the fifth to win the match.

Jefferson will begin district play this Friday at 4:30 with a home game against New Diana.  The Lady Dawgs are 9-15 on the year, and will face the Lady Eagles, who will bring a 13-9 record into the Bulldog Gym.  New Diana is lead by key players Gabi Moore and Joelle Newton.

Come on out to support the Lady Dawgs in their district opener, and then head over to Bulldog Stadium to watch the boys take on Center at 7:30 P.M. on the gridiron.  The theme for this week is “Salute to Service,” so make plans to attend the pep rally (2:30 P.M. at the gym) and the pre-game ceremony (7:00 P.M. at the stadium) to show your support for our military and first responders.
