Lady Bulldogs Best the Bears

The Lady Bulldogs won Friday night’s non-conference match against the Gladewater Lady Bears by a score of 3-2 in 5 sets (25-21, 18-25, 25-23, 23-25, 15-13).

Elaina Langbartels lead the effort with 13 kills, 20 service points, and 2 blocks.  Ar’Tazia Warren had 13 service points and 12 digs.  Hannah Welch also had 12 digs and while Aliyah Cochran had 13.  Mackenzie Jordan and Nia Garrett had 15 and 18 assists respectively.

Head Coach Falon Jones says her team “fought hard and never gave up. They came together as a team … for the first time I’ve seen this season.”

Jimp Sports WriterJones says “I’m a tough coach” and that she pushes her team to work very hard. “Volleyball is my passion so I work really hard to teach them everything I know and hope to help them share my passion.”

To prepare for this week’s upcoming games, Jones feels her Lady Bulldogs “are putting in the work and skills are improving daily.  Now the focus is to work on the little things and keep building that team bond that will get us through the tough opponents.”

The Lady Bulldogs are currently 6-9 for the season as they prepare for Tuesday’s away match against Bishop TK Gorman in Tyler, TX set for 4:30pm.
