Obituary | Mary Francis Abbott Nalls

Nalls_Mary_croppedMary Francis Abbott Nalls, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, went to be with the Lord on August 6, 2018. Mary was born in Greenville, Texas on November 26, 1935 to Geraldine Kincaid Abbott and Early Raymond Abbott. She was married to the love of her life, Egbert Derwood Nalls on June 19, 1953. They were active long time members of Johnson Street Church of Christ and Jefferson Church of Christ.

Mary’s greatest love in life was in caring for her family. She was skilled in crafting and cooking and always stayed busy in the care of her home and the work of the church. Her greatest joy in life was her love of her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed and always in the hearts of her family.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband Derwood, her son Larry and a sister, Betty Hayes. She is survived by her daughters Sherry Emory and husband Mark of Gilmer, and Terri Nalls of Longview and by her grandchildren Andrew Emory and wife Ruth, Adam Emory and wife Mallory, Mason Nalls, Mykayla Nalls, and Marissa Nalls and by great-grandchildren Kayden Emory, Ava Emory, Amelia Emory and Ezekiel Emory.

Mary also leaves behind sisters Dorothy Craig of Greenville, Barbara O’Pry of Bedford and brothers Stanley Abbott of Bonham and James Abbott of Louisiana. She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was at Welch Funeral Home in Longview on Thursday, August 9, 2018, from 5-7 p.m.. Services were at Creekside Church of Christ in Greenville, Texas on Friday, August 10, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. with Randy Daw officiating.

Honorary Pallbearers were her grandsons Andrew Emory, Adam Emory and Mason Nalls and her nephews Mike Craig, Gregg Abbott and Chris Abbott.
