Arrest warrants have been issued for two additional suspects in the May 26 shooting of two Jefferson teens.
Both Javori Lilly and an unidentified female juvenile are accused of three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Arrested by the US Marshal’s Service on the same charges on the day of the shooting was 17-year-old Deontra Tyre Lilly of Longview.
Officers say Deontra Lilly has made a statement admitting to firing the .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol.
Javori Lilly and the female are believed to have been in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
Out of the 11 shots fired on Owen Street, six struck Malik Cannon, 16. Another shot hit Tyron “Tybo” Williams, 17. Another shot was fired toward an area resident.
Both Cannon and Williams are students at Jefferson High School. Both have played football for the school.
Jefferson Police Department Sgt. Jason Carroll said Wednesday both teens have been released from hospitals and are recovering at home.
Carroll revealed the dispute between Deontra Lilly and Cannon should not have reached this level.
“It was just a lot of childish trash talk that got out of hand,” Carroll said.
The veteran officer explained that under the “law of parties” additional people in a car can be charged with the same crime as the criminal.
