How is your fear of heights doing this summer?
“Skyscraper” is about to find out. Fortunately, you have a safety net.
With Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, as the hero, you know the good guys will win in the end. You can also count on plenty of chills, scares and a well-made movie.
“Skyscraper” includes twists not common in most flicks of this genre. Johnson’s family is in the middle of the story. Johnson must not only save a burning building, but also his family.
Will Sawyer is a former FBI agent who was wounded and lost his leg 10 years before our story begins. While in hospital, Sawyer meets his future wife and they have two children. He now evaluates security systems of tall buildings.
He’s on assignment in China when he finds the tallest, safest building in the world suddenly ablaze, and he’s been framed for it. A wanted man on the run, Sawyer must find those responsible, clear his name and somehow rescue his family, which is trapped inside the building, above the fire line.
You only need to read the daily headlines to suspend your disbelief. You have action. You have plot twists. You had children in danger.
It’s too early for a Rotten Tomatoes freshness meter, but 94 percent of the people apparently are eager to see this one.
“Skyscraper” is a can’t miss summer adventure movie.
