The Opera House Theatre Players announced new dates for their upcoming production, “Spreading It Around”, a comedy by famed comedy writer Londos D’Arrigo. They have had to shift to new dates, June 8-9, but will still perform at the same time and location; 7:30 each night at the Jefferson Playhouse.
The comedy is a rapid-fire mix-up of double- meanings and mistaken ideas between a senior citizen living the good life in Florida and her son and daughter-in-law, topped off with a slice of good humor when they form the S.I.N. organization.
According to director Marcia Thomas, “The dates had to be pushed forward to accommodate scheduling with essentially most of the original cast intact. Several of the cast members, including one who was a last minute replacement, were finding it difficult to wed rehearsal time with personal commitments . We really wanted to do this comedy badly for two reasons. First, we are obligated to our loyal membership to do at least three productions a season, and secondly because this is a terrifically funny play! We did not want to cancel. The local and area audiences will grab this one for an evening of belly-laughs plus most will relate to the story. “
“It seemed best to move the show up a few weeks to get it all done properly and still have a good location to perform the comedy which is a super- funny play about Sin-sational Seniors,” Thomas laughed. “We don’t want anyone to miss this one for sure!”
Tickets for the production will go on sale soon at The Willow Tree in downtown Jefferson or call them at 903-601-4515. They will also be available online through the website www.JeffersonOperaHouseTheatrePlayers.com.
