Sunday afternoon was the setting for the American Girl Tea, the annual fundraiser for the American Girl Book Club. The tea is co-sponsored by the Women of Jefferson Organization and the Friends of the Library. All proceeds benefit the book club.

The room was beautifully appointed with real china cups and teapots, tablecloths and chair covers. There were approximately 110 adults and young ladies in their “Sunday Best” in attendance; including several fathers escorting their daughters.
Mr. Tony Jones presented each Book Club Member with a long-stemmed rose as she entered the ballroom.
The Culinary Class from Jefferson High School provided excellent service as participants enjoyed an array of tea time treats with their hot peach tea. The menu included carrot, cucumber and chicken salad sandwiches on croissants, lemon and chocolate tarts, homemade scones with clotted-cream and strawberry jam. The petit fours were also served and are always a special treat.
As always, the American Girl Book Club, the Friends of the Library and the Women of Jefferson would like to thank everyone who worked to make this special event possible.
