One of Jefferson’s old-timers, Bob Moseley, who grew up here in the Sherrill-Benefield house was feted on his 101st birthday at the Fellowship Hall of the Vivian, La. First Methodist Church. The event was held on Sunday from 2 to 4 pm and was well attended by family and friends of the Vivian area as well as other areas of Louisiana and Texas.
The party was put together by his daughter Carol Carroll who was unable to be there due to an accident she suffered when carrying bags through a glass door that broke and cut her arm resulting in a visit to the ER. His granddaughter, Lauren, took over the reins and while friends set up the festive tables filled with food and cake.
Mr. Moseley retired many years ago and lived alone until the last few years when he went to live with his daughter in Keithville. He commented that he enjoyed the several birthday parties that he and his daughter attended in Jefferson for his childhood friend, the late Dorothy Craver.
