SUGAR LAND, Texas – Families served by Monarch Utilities in Marion County received a traditional Thanksgiving meal this year as part of the sixth annual Project Wishbone. Monarch Utilities I, L.P., a subsidiary of SouthWest Water Company, launched the program in 2012 to offer ready-to-cook food baskets to qualified Monarch customers who wished to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving meal, but may not be able to afford one.
Last week, pre-registered Monarch customers in Marion County received a basket filled with everything needed to prepare a family dinner. Monarch employees distributed baskets to customers in Jefferson who received either a turkey or ham, along with traditional dinner sides.
“Project Wishbone is an amazing program that allows us to give back to local families we serve across the state, who otherwise would not have been able to afford a Thanksgiving meal,” said Ronniea Tycer, director, communications and customer care at SouthWest Water Company. “This is the sixth year for our program, and we are grateful to be able to continue to serve those in need during the holiday season.”
