Mark Allen’s Lady Bulldogs got their District 16-3A slate off to a good start Tuesday night, picking up a 56-49 victory over Ore City’s Lady Rebels. Jefferson is now 13-4 on the year and 1-0 in district play.

Elaina Langbartels led the way Tuesday night with 19 points and nine rebounds while getting plenty of support from Ja’Kayla Jones (14 points), Mackenzie Jordan (10 points) and a busy Jamya Smith, who had seven boards and four steals to go along with her 10-point night.

The Lady Bulldogs prep for their district opener was a four-game sweep through Harleton’s Holiday Hoops Classic last weekend. The Lady Bulldogs rolled Trinity School of Texas, 70-22 and blasted Avinger, 69-18 before Saturday wins over Troup (58-45) and DeKalb (66-27).

The Lady Bulldogs are on their home court Friday evening, squaring off against District 16-3A rival Beckville with the JV scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m. and the varsity tipping off at around 6:30 p.m.
