Being in touch twice with the company “Cineflix” which handles the scheduling for the popular television show on the History Channel know as, “AMERICAN PICKERS”. it appears the company is looking to make a trip to our corner of the world in East Texas.
The show follows antique and collectible pickers Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz who travel around the United States to buy or “pick” various items for resale, for clients, or for their own personal collections. are looking to come to our area to pick!
Right now, they are looking making a trip to our area. They are not looking at your normal “antique shops.” They are looking for both large and unique collections that can dig through and get their hands dirty.
You might have the perfect item they are looking for just sitting there in an old out-building or barn; even behind the barn. Many of our families of past generations hoarded items…because they might could use it or repurpose it for some day when “they might need it.” Having grown up during the Depression or World War II, they learned that certain things could be in short supply sometime down the road and would tuck them back in old barns and storage buildings. The junkier, dustier, more cobweb laden, the better!
They are not looking for single items or retail shops, but barns, sheds, large storage buildings are open game. They often are on the lookout for antique toys, signage for long-forgotten dealerships or petroleum companies, autos, parts, feed store, industrial features, or farming implements. You may have just the item for which they are looking; the more unique or quirky, the better.
If you have or know of someone who has collections like this, send them a message on “Got a Pick”. Email them at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 1-855-OLD-RUST (1-855-653-7878).
