Right response to gifts
Morning came again. And again, a priceless gift awaited as my conscientious mind grinded into gear. Wow! Another gift for me, again! How do I respond? Should I respond? Surely, who deserves gifts more than me. Why not accumulate all my responses and wait ‘til one day a year and then respond. Hmmm…What is the right response to a gift given?
What if God only gave air, water, food, shelter, peace, grace, revelation, wisdom, knowledge, only once a year? Would we murmur and complain because the frequency of gifts is so few?
The apostle Paul wrote to the Thessalonians that, “In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus, concerning you.” David, in Psalms 92:1 says, “It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:” And in Psalms 100:4, “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.”
“Thank You” is the proper response to a person who has given you a gift…
