Former DA Bill Gleason shares experiences with classes at JHS

Gleason highJISD Officer Shawn Cox invited local attorney and former DA and local attorney, Bill Gleason, to teach in his Criminal Justice Class last Wednesday at Jefferson High School. He spoke with the group regarding several cases he handled as District Attorney covering Animal Abuse, including the confiscation of the large cats (including panthers and such), dog fighting rings, and hoarders of large numbers of animals such as dogs and cats which were ill, starving, and living in filthy conditions. He indicated he had worked with Officer Cox many times while in office, with Cox being the investigator.

When asked, Gleason stated, “The students were responsive, polite, and asked questions. Some of the students expressed a desire to go into Law Enforcement, while some were still undecided.
