At the close of their Nov. 2 meeting, the Jefferson City Council voted to approve the promotion of two police officers, while also posting notices for two new city positions.

The council went into executive session to discuss the personnel matters. Afterward, they voted to promote Patrol Officer Jason Carrol to sergeant patrol officer, with a $1,000 per year pay increase.

They also promoted Patrol Officer Florentino Perez to detective/investigator, with a $500 per year pay increase.

The council also accepted the resignation of Samantha Wilbanks, while also authorizing City Administrator Kevin Huckabee to post an opening for a utilities billing clerk. The city is also looking for a part-time person to work in the Jefferson Transportation and Visitors Center.
