Heritage Hospice again hosted Senior Games Day at the First United Methodist Church. Various nursing homes from around the area came and took part in the carnival type games geared for the residents, many whose physical abilities were limited.
Games included “Sponge in the Face”, “Pitching Washers”, “Bucket Toss”, among others. Junior National Honor Society and the Student Council members from Jefferson Junior High School, School assistance the residents with the tasks.
Lunch was served to the students and residents in the Fellowship Hall.
The residents all appeared to have a wonderful time, getting some time extra attention, time outside and seeing some fresh young faces.
Heritage Hospice treated the students from the Junior High later with a pizza party to reward them for assistance they gave with the residents, making their day brighter.
