Pumpkins are usually ready a little closer to Fall, but Amber Dreesen has pumpkins already for picking. Last year, she was visited by the Pumpkin Lady (former Jefferson resident Tina MaGouirk Ramsey) who does a great deal of volunteer work in Shreveport, including dressing up and reading stories at the Pumpkin Patch. Ever since Amber saw Tina, her greatest desire has been to grow some pumpkins. Her great-grandfather, Jerry Dreesen, saw to it she got some pumpkin seeds. When it came time to plant the garden in the spring, she planted her pumpkin seeds and had excellent results.
