A tiered, cast iron fountain that for years enhanced the grounds of Christ Episcopal Church, 703 S. Main in Jefferson, will soon be attracting birds, cats and children again.
The fountain, which features raised leaves and frogs, is identical to one associated with The House of the Seasons (formerly the Glass house). It was presented to the church “To the Glory of God in Loving Memory of Marion T. Glass Jr.”
Restoration and enhancement of church fountain will be completed by Ricky Wisdom and Mike Kizzar.
A fundraising chicken dinner provided by Chef Bill Stewart will be served at the Stillwater Restaurant on Sunday, June 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. to celebrate the restoration and imminent return to service of the handsome memorial fountain. The menu for the dinner includes a dinner salad, followed by the entrée of chicken breast covered in a Dijon sauce topped with tarragon, French green beans, and sliced potatoes in a cream sauce. Tickets cost $25 apiece and include an apple crisp dessert and either
tea or coffee. There will be no take-outs…
