Hurricane Creek on FM 729 on the North Shore of Lake o’the Pines will be the location for the 18th Annual Kid’s Fish Day, sponsored by the Pine Cone Fishing Club and the Lake o’the Pines Chamber of Commerce. Saturday, June 3rd will be a day of family fun with the focus on kids. No license is needed, you bring your own pole, bait will be provided, and lunch will be free.
Bring your chairs, sunscreen, insect repellant, and a happy disposition along with your kids, grandkids, nieces or nephews, and be prepared for a day of fun.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. Fishing will be from the bank only. No boats are allowed. The State of Texas does not require a sport fishing license on to the first Saturday of June only.
There will be official Weighmaster and trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places for each age group. Age categories are broken down into 2-4 years, 5-6 years, 7-9 years, 10-12 years, and 13-16 years. Awards are based on the total weight of the top five fish caught.
The kids will also take part in the Big Fish Pot.
Three kids with the top 3 fish will split the pot 50% – 30% – 20%.
