Two Bulldog thinclads qualify at Regionals for state meet

athletesTaylor Smith and Damian Hines punched their tickets to the state championships at Regional competition last weekend. Smith had the second-best leap of 21-9 in the Boys Long Jump.

 
Hines was first in the Boys Discus with a 171-4 hurl.

 

Both will face the best in Texas May 11-13 at Mike A. Meyers Stadium on the University of Texas campus in Austin.

 

Other qualifiers from East Texas in the AAA division included: Girls 100 hurdles and Girls 300 hurdles, Kinsey Smith of White Oak. Girls 800 relay, Layla Johnston, Kahleyia Johnson, Denver Mims and Montrevia Durham of Daingerfield.

 
Girls triple jump, Michae’lann DiMaggio of Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill.

 
Boys 400 meters, Daryl Turner of Paul Pewitt.

 
Boys 110 hurdles, Sabine’s Adam Caudle.

 
Boys pole vault, Jack Miller of New Diana.

 
Harmony’s Waymon Lay also qualified in the Discus.
