JISD students to compete in Marshall track meet

Director of Student Services, Debra DeLoach, has announced that Jefferson ISD students will compete in the Marshall Invitational Track Meet on Friday, May 5, 2017 at Maverick Stadium.

This year, Jefferson is sending 20 athletes, the largest delegation to date. This year’s theme is “Super Heroes” and Jefferson’s Super Hero will be “The Falcon”.


These gifted athletes, led by senior torchbearer Nick Reints, will participate in opening ceremonies, along with 15 area schools. Athletes will compete in various track and field events including: 100 meter dash, 50 meter dash, 25 meter wheelchair dash, softball throw, Frisbee throw, and AMTRYKE races. Additionally, students will be able to enjoy carnival games, face painting, a fire truck, and visit with real life Super Heroes, such as law enforcement officials and fire fighters.


There will be a community send off from Jefferson High School at 8:45 a.m.
