Jefferson High School star baseball pitcher and infielder Nate Gibbons inked a college commitment Monday at the JHS spring signing event.
Gibbons has chosen to attend Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, Ark.
“I feel like I’ll be close to my brother,” Gibbons said. Ryan Gibbons, a 2015 JHS grad, attends SAU.
“I’ve been there and it’s nice,” Nate noted.
Nate Gibbons is a four-year starter at JHS. He has been a member of two State UIL Bi- District Playoff Teams; two State UIL Area Playoff Teams during his high school career.
As a junior, Nate Gibbons batted .464 in district play, one of the tops in East Texas. That same year, he also stole 18 bases.
Nate will play in the prestigious Fellowship of Christian Athletes All-Star Baseball game in June.
He is the son of Chris and Stephanie Gibbons. He is also the grandson of Pat Gibbons, another former Jefferson High School pitcher.
