Memorial services for Jay Van Dyne, 83, of Jefferson, Texas are 1:00 P.M. Wednesday April 19, 2017, at Christ Episcopal Church with Father David F.K. Puckett officiating. Cremation arrangements made under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home.
Mr. Van Dyne was born October 8, 1933 in Chicago, IL. to Nelson Jay and Ruth Forster Van Dyne and passed April 12, 2017 in Jefferson. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Barbara Van Dyne.
Mr. Van Dyne was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church, a longtime member of the Jefferson lions Club and member of the Friends of the Library. He loved model railroads. Mr. Van Dyne was a general aviation pilot and was a founding member of the Oklahoma Pilot Association.
Mr. Van Dyne is survived by his wife, Penny of Jefferson, children, Dawn Griffith & Sherman of Southlake, TX., and Thomas Van Dyne & Lisa of Azle, TX., uncle, Robert Van Dyne of Ohio, grandchildren, Justin Griffith, Ben Griffith, Amanda Van Dyne and Kyle Van Dyne.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the the Jefferson Carnegie Library, 301 W. Lafayette St., Jefferson, TX. 75657.
