The_Fate_of_The_Furious_Theatrical_PosterWhat movie has had a more successful opening weekend than any films in the Star Wars franchise, Jurassic Park franchise, or Harry Potter franchise?

“The Fate of the Furious” drove in $532 million in box office receipts this past weekend and commanded the attention of audiences worldwide with the highest grossing opening of all time.

Fast and Furious 8, or F8 as it is sometimes called, is the first film in the franchise to not include Jordana Brewster or Paul Walker because of the single vehicle crash that took his life during filming of the seventh installment of the series in 2013.

The film premiered in Berlin on April 4 and, in addition to the normal 3D and IMAX theaters, is playing in 4DX theaters mainly in Asia. Film aficionados may know that 4DX theaters were started by a South Korean company and provide an enhanced movie watching experience by amplifying the 3D experience with real life effects such as seat motion, wind, fog, rain, lights, scents, etc.

As of now, the closest 4DX theater to Jefferson is in Toronto, so it is something to keep on your bucket list.

F8 revs up Furious fans with a high-octane combo of fast modified cars, explosive special effects, and a nostalgic nod to fate and family. A tank and nuclear submarine motions the franchise towards expanding the cast of transportation vehicles available for the writers of F9 (which is slated to be released in 2019).

The movie scores a 66% Fresh on the Rotten Tomatometer, but loses some its traction with a repetitive and predictable cycle hit the gas, crash, then boom! Another explosion.

“The Fate of the Furious” (136 minutes) is showing at the Marshall Cinema with a PG-13 rating for violence and language. Call (903) 935-5662 or visit http://www.Jimplecute1848. com for a full list of show times. Then zoom into to see it soon.
