For the 10th time, members of Immanuel Baptist Church in Marshall will perform “The Sacrifice” in celebration of Easter.
The production, which takes place at 7 p.m. on April 7, 8 and 9, is free. Nursery services will be provided for babies 2 and younger.
Featuring a cast of approximately 75 people, “The Sacrifice” focuses on the final week of Jesus’ life before he was crucified, says Ricky Hall, minister of music at the church. The one-hour play depicts several miracles he performed, the Last Supper, his trials before Pilate where he was sentenced to be crucified and the crucifixion itself. The drama culminates with Jesus’ resurrection from the dead.
Hall says the church normally presents “The Sacrifice” every two years, but because of the date Easter has fallen on the calendar, they’ve waited three years to produce it again.
