Catholic church in Jefferson hosts Palm Sunday concert

The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church invites the public to attend a free performance of selections from Handel’s Mes­siah on Palm Sunday, April 9. The concert begins at 3 p.m. at the church, located at 201 N. Vale St. in Jefferson.

Conductor Leonard Kacenjar will lead the musicians, which include the Shreveport Festival String Quartet & Friends, along with soprano Amy Kessler, alto Tori Windham and tenor Tommy Corley.

Although admission is free, monetary donations are welcomed. The church also gratefully accepts canned and boxed food items for those in need.

A cake and punch reception will take place after the concert.
