Bulldogs sign with Oklahoma colleges

“There are some things that I want to talk about before I talk about our signees because I think it is important, sometimes, to educate some people,” began Coach Antwain Jimmerson. “We are very fortunate to be here in Jefferson, Texas. College coaches from all over the nation come through here. They talk to coaches, counselors and teachers; they try to gather as much information as possible on academics which is crucial, but also about character. They want to know what kind of people these young men are as well as watching games and practices.”

 
Three members of the District Champion Jefferson Bulldogs football team signed college letters of intent Wednesday, February 1st. Trevor Murphy and Todd Polver signed with East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. Alijuan Rice signed with Bacone College in Muskogee, Oklahoma.

 
Alijuan Rice is a two-year starter for the bulldogs. He was voted as a team captain as a senior. He led area defensive linemen in tackles and tackles for loss. He is District 8-3A First Team Defensive Lineman. Alijuan had 156 tackles, 10 Tackles for loss, 10 Forced Fumbles, and 4 Fumble Recoveries. He is district 8-3A 1st Team Defensive Linemen, 3rd Team All-Smoaky Defensive Linemen. Helso has lettered in powerlifting. He is the son of Thomasia Rice and has four siblings. He was also recently been named to the All-State 1st Team.

 
Trevor Murphy was a three-year starter for the Jefferson HS. He was voted as a team captain as a senior. He accounted for more than 150 tackles a senior. He was first team all-district defense as a senior. He lettered in football, basketball, golf and baseball…
