Several months ago, the Jimplecute published a photo of the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the new Mims Volunteer Fire Department building that was going to soon start construction.
The organization wants to thank everyone for their support at the breaksfasts, supporting their raffles and individual fundraisers, the community’s payments of the annual dues for MVFD, and for the community coming together and volunteering when needed.
The slab has been poured, the walls are up, and the roof is on. It is now time for the second phase; finishing out the interior.
Still needed for completing the building is to finish out the interior of the facility, funding for completing the inside of the building, and skilled volunteers to help with the process.
To get started on this part of the project, they will be hosting a Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, February 4, in the Community Center at 117828 FM 729. They will be serving pancakes, bacon or sausage, and coffee, juice, or milk. Prices for the breakfast are $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, and $2 for children. They will be serving from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m.
At the same time they will be having a Bake Sale with all types of cookie, cakes, bars, and other sweet treats.
Come and join the MVFD in raising the funds for this very worthwhile project that serves such a vital purpose to the community of Mims Chapel and beyond.
