On January 1, 2017, Mr. Robert Charles Moseley spent the day around Jefferson, celebrating his 100th birthday.
The first photo is beside the Soda Lake House where 100 years ago, to the very day, he was born, January 1, 1917.
In the second photo, across the street, is the Benefield House. That is where his family moved when he was a year old. They lived there until he was about 14. Following his father’s death in 1930 from cancer, they moved to a couple of other houses on
Austin Street, one of which is still there.
His mother and two sisters left Jefferson in 1942, joining his two brothers in Oklahoma City.
Robert went into the Coast Guard and then met his future wife in Brunswick, Ga. They were married in 1944. Following the war…
