Obituary | Robert Norman Callison

callisonFuneral services for Mr. Robert Norman Callison, 96, of Jefferson, Texas are planned for 11:00 A.M. Friday January 27, 2017 at the First United Methodist
Church with Rev. Steven Newcomb officiating. Interment will follow at Old Foundry Cemetery under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 6-8 P.M. Thursday January 26, 2017 at the funeral home.

 
Mr. Callison was born October 19, 1920 in Lodi, TX. to Robert and Alice Louise Mullins Callison, and passed away January 23, 2017 in Jefferson. He was a Marion County native, member of the First United Methodist
Church of Jefferson in which he served in many capacities, Norman served in the U.S. Army until he was seriously wounded in combat patrol in Belgium. He treasured the Purple Heart Medal
he received. He and his late wife Ruby were former owners of Callison Antiques. They were the first people to restore an old building in downtown Jefferson,and were the first couple to receive “Citizen of the Year.” Mr. Callison retired from the U.S. Post Office after many years.

 

Mr. Callison is survived by his daughter, Susan Geddie & husband James of Harker Heights, TX., two grandsons, Robert Allen Geddie and James Christopher Geddie, three great-granddaughters, one great-grandson, brother-in-law, Henry Carter & Wife Dorothy,special friend and caregiver, Susie Watkins and numerous other family and friends.
