At their meeting Thursday, Jefferson Economic Development Corporation directors approved a grant request from Creating Opportunities in Marion County for Certified Nurse Assistant classes.
Shirley Partridge provided a brief introduction of Creating Opportunities for Marion County (COMC) and explained the CNA program.
Partridge informed the $5,800 grant would be utilized to train 10 students and once the students were trained they would reimbursement the $5,800 to continue to use as further education opportunities.
Partridge explained that the $5,800 would continue to “rollover” from each training program.
The board also considered a request from Tasha Moore to create an adult daycare center at COMC and from Richard Penner of Knight Light to relocate part of his kitchen to comply with city directives.

Bob Avery motioned to decline the grant/loan request from Amazing Hearts Homecare and Staffing, LLC. Shawn Fuquay seconds the motion. All in favor.
Robin Moore motioned to table the grant/loan request from the KnightLight Tavern. Bob Avery seconds the motion. All in favor.
