The Marion County Diversified Civic and Social Concerns Organization (MCDCSCO) have begun selling tickets and reserving tables for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration after New Year’s Day.
The Banquet will be held January 16, 2017 at the Jefferson Community Center. Guest speaker for the banquet will be JISD Superintendent Rob Barnwell.
Tables for settings of 8 can be reserved for $200, and singles are $20 per ticket.
The Annual Youth Program will be held at 11:00 a.m. on the 16th at the Jefferson Primary School. Singers, praise dancers, and poets are encouraged to come out and perform.
With the theme for this year as Empowering Youth: Education Matters, the guest speaker will be Dave Nelson.
The Martin Luther King Parade will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 15th.
