WHAT WAS COOKIN’ By Sherry McAdoo

I was so proud of the Marion County turnout for the Presidential Election. Kimberly and I worked the election and were so glad to be so busy. One young man came in later in the afternoon with a big smile on his face and announced that it was his first time to vote. He had driven from LSU just to vote. We had several who told us it was their first time to vote. It was my grandson’s first time to vote. He and his dad went together – what a great moment. I have a wonderful photo taken after their vote. They had great big smiles and they had their “I Voted” stickers on. All of these young people coming out to vote gives you great hope for the future of our democracy – doesn’t it!
