Obituary | Shirley Ledbetter

ledbetterShirley Ledbetter, 81, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2016 in Jefferson, Texas. Shirley was born May 31, 1935 in Linden to Henry Delbert and Artie Mae Hogue Humphrey.

Shirley loved to cook and help out wherever she was needed. She enjoyed sewing and even sewed her own wedding dress. Shirley was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother and was always there to provide for her family.

She was a former member of the United Pentecostal Church
in Jefferson. Shirley will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of over 40 years, Charles Wesley Ledbetter; brothers, Quinlan, Carol Wayne and Waylan Humphrey; sisters, Marie Ledbetter and Una Fae Whitney; granddaughter, Rachel Chambliss; grandson, Charles Steve Ledbetter; and great grandsons, Lucas and Wyatt Haden.
Shirley is survived by her children, Barbara Chambliss (Wayne), Steve Ledbetter (Margaret), Marilyn Thompson (Wayne), Richard Ledbetter (Roberta), Lora Ramsey (Richard) and Pam Parrott (Michael); brother, Lankey Humphrey; 26 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.

Service was held 10:00 am Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Meadowbrook Funeral Home. Visitation was 5-7 pm Friday, November 4, 2016 at Meadowbrook Funeral Home. Shirley is interred in Kellyville Cemetery, Jefferson, Texas.
