By Carla Bass/April Johnson
This free event is sponsored by F.R.E.S.H Youth Mentoring Program, Healthcare Express, and Choice Dental on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. The social will be held at the COMC Building at 510 E. Bonham St. in Jefferson, Tx. (This was originally the Old Magnolia Manor Building.) Dress for the day will include sun dresses and pearls or an outfit that makes you feel “be-you-tiful!” Speakers for gathering of young ladies will be Pastor Sheila Willis Timberlake and Dr. Cynthia Morrow. If you have never heard these ladies speak, you do not want to miss out. They are awesome!
They will cover a range of topics including empowerment, bullying, self-esteem, music, goals, friendship, and just good fun girl talk! We expecting at least 40 girls prove us wrong and let’s try to double those numbers! At some point we will break up into age groups to discuss different topics. There will be a question box in case anyone is shy and needs a question answered.
This is a going to be a great event, with great food, speakers, goodies, and conversation. We will be working on a vision for our young ladies and their futures! This is a free event open to the public. Mothers, daughters, aunts, cousins and grandmothers are welcome. Klondike the Bear, from Healthcare Express, will be a special guest. Everyone is welcome.
This event is for all areas…Jefferson, Daingerfield, Linden, Marshall, Longview, Lake o’ the Pines, for just a few.
