Lack of twirlers irks mom

Tanya Lohman complained to the Jefferson Independent School District board this week about the JHS band not employing twirlers.

Lohman noted her daughter, Mason who is a sophomore, has practiced since the fifth grade to be a majorette for the Bull Dog Band.

“I’m upset about that,” Lohman said. “I understand change, but other corps style bands use twirlers, why can’t we do the same thing?”

Lohman said she wanted a solution that works for everyone.

“There has to be a way we can all get along and be happy,” Lohman said.

Superintendent Rob Barnwell offered to meet with Lohman the next day.
