Traffic will be detoured through Smithland on Thursday, Sept. 22, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. or until work is completed.
Motorists who normally travel FM 134 in Marion County will need to find an alternate route on Thursday, Sept. 22. Kansas City Southern will be closing the highway to through-traffic on these dates to make repairs to the railroad crossing.
Traffic will officially be detoured on a signed route down State Highway 49 and SH 43 through Smithland. Portable message boards will be placed near the railroad crossing beforehand to warn motorists of the scheduled road closure.
The construction schedule and road closure can change due to inclement weather or FM 134 RAILROAD CROSSING CLOSED SEPT. 22 other unforeseen problems.
